After nine days of continuous practice of Yamantaka Drubchen, on the completion day (September 1), 

rainbow light and auspicious clouds appeared on the sky above Garchen Retreat Center.

 

Garchen Rinpoche gave teachings on these auspicious signs:

 

"Everything in the outer world, including the bodies of sentient beings, is comprised of the five elements. When these elements ripen, they ripen into the five female buddhas. Within the minds of sentient beings are the five afflictive emotions, and when these ripen, they become the five wisdoms. Together, they are the five male buddhas with consorts. When the universe and sentient beings become purified they ripen, and a sign on the outer level is the appearance of rainbows, which is a sign that the mental afflictions of sentient beings have ripened somewhat into wisdom. It is an excellent sign. This rainbow is the natural light of the five buddha families, particularly of the five female buddhas."
