" So, what are the five wisdoms? From the empty nature of the mind, which is like space, all appearances of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa arise. The appearances of saṃsāra arise due to self-grasping, while the appearances of nirvāṇa: pure forms, pure lands, and so on, come about due to bodhicitta. But whatever may appear, it is devoid of any concrete existence or conceptual structures, devoid of any duality.

Therefore, in the same way that a mirror does not grasp at whatever appears in it, the mind has no dualistic grasping at whatever appears: this is mirror-like wisdom. So when the appearances of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa arise, if one is like a mirror and does not grasp at them, this is mirror-like wisdom. This means that when you understand appearances to be illusory, there is neither attachment to positive appearances nor aversion toward negative appearances; thus, there is equanimity with regard to whatever appears, whether good or bad. This is called the wisdom of equanimity."
